Working with Anger
Estuve los otros días en la librería de un centro comercial y me puse a chequiar los libros en el rack de budismo, metafísica y demás.
"Sólo voy a ver los libros. No voy a comprar", me dije a mi misma. La verdad es que siempre salgo con alguno.
Esta vez he encontrado un libro que me ha caido como anillo al dedo en estos momentos. Se llama "Working with Anger" de una monja budista llamada Thubten Chodron. Abajo hay unas citas del libro:
♥"(Genuine self-confidence) is based on knowing our great human potential and the fundamental purity of our mind, not on others acting in a particular way."
♥"(...) a mind free from anger can more quickly find a good solution."
♥"No matter what the cause, when we hate the opressors, our mind becomes like theirs."
♥"Compassion -the wish for others to be free from difficulties and confusion- (...) is a more balanced, realistic, and effective as anger."
♥"(...)calmness in the face of harm gives us the space to evaluate situation clearly and thus make wise decisions."
♥"Compassion is an attitude which realizes that others' wish to be happy and to avoid difficulties is just as intense and worthy of respect as our own."
♥"A person and his/her behavior are separate. We cannot say that a person is evil even his/her behavior or intention is harmful. (...) Each person has some internal goodness that can never be destoyed, no matter how badly he or she may act."
♥"Forgiveness does not mean tolerating damaging behavior or staying in abusive situation. (...) Motivated by compassion, we can take strong measures to prevent or interrupt harm."
♥"Forgiving benefits ourselves as well as others. When we hold onto our anger, we're tense and unhappy, and this affects our relationships and physical health. By forgiving we let go our anger and thus cease our own suffering."
Seguiré añadiendo poco a poco...
